Spring 1

This half-term our learning journey began with the mysterious arrival of a rucksac!  The children decided that it belonged to someone who was travelling to a cold climate.  We found an exciting letter from an explorer asking for our help as he wanted to travel to the cold regions of the world.  The children are now busy finding out about the polar regions and whether the same animals would be found in the Arctic and the Antarctic.

Winter Warmers

What a fantastic turn out for our Winter Warmers evening!

All the grown-ups listened to great talk about the importance of reading bedtime stories to children,  as well as hearing them read their school reading and library books.  The children got to come to school in their pyjamas and bring along their favourite teddies.  The best part of the evening was when the children got to snuggle up with their grown-up to enjoy a story with hot chocolate!

Computing

The children are learning about programing in Computing this half term. In groups, they have been creating their own algorithms to make the Beebots move and follow a sequence of instructions.  The children had great fun creating their own Beebot mats and making their Beebot move from a start point to a finish point.  The children also learnt to debug, if their algorithm was not working correctly. We then added the challenge of avoiding obstacles.  Great teamwork Year 2!
