Spiritual, Moral, Social and Cultural

Spiritual, Moral, Social and Cultural development

Chandler’s Ford Infant School is a school which seeks to develop confident, independent, caring and enquiring individuals who are prepared for the future.

We believe in fostering life long learning through providing an environment that values mutual trust and respect, honesty and equality and seeks to develop everyone’s potential.

We will provide excellent learning opportunities for all and celebrate the successes of individuals and the whole community.

At Chandler’s Ford Infant School we believe spiritual, moral, social and cultural development (SMSC) underpins everything we do and through this we aim to prepare our children for life in modern Britain.

Our collective worship is delivered through daily assemblies:

Monday - whole school assembly

Tuesday - singing assembly

Wednesday - Class or yeargroup assembly

Thursday - Class or yeargroup assembly

Friday - Crown celebration assembly

Our Monday whole school assemblies are planned on a 3 year cycle so that each year builds on key themes such as: Awe Wonder and Reflection, Belonging, Behaviour and attitudes as well as celebrating key events and religions from around the world.  It is a time when children are challenged to reflect and develop a respect for each other.

Wednesday and Thursday assemblies are linked to our Relationships and Health Education.
