Safeguarding at Chandler's Ford Infant School

At Chandler's Ford Infant School, the safety and wellbeing of every child is our highest priority.

We are fully committed to creating a secure, caring, and supportive environment where children feel safe, respected, and valued. We believe that all children have the right to be protected from harm and to grow up in a nurturing environment that supports their development and learning.

Our safeguarding practices are based on national legislation, including Keeping Children Safe in Education, and follow the procedures set out by Hampshire Safeguarding Children's Partnership (HSCP). All staff, governors, and volunteers receive regular training to ensure they are confident in identifying concerns and taking appropriate action.

Our safeguarding responsibilities include:

  • Ensuring the welfare of all pupils is paramount.

  • Maintaining a robust safeguarding policy that is reviewed annually.

  • Promoting an open culture where pupils feel listened to and supported.

  • Working closely with families, external agencies, and professionals when concerns arise.

  • Educating pupils about staying safe, both in school and online.

Our Designated Safeguarding lead is Mary Strong.

We have two Deputy Safeguarding leads:  Lisa Holmes and Victoria Salentino.

If you have any concerns about a child’s welfare, please do not hesitate to contact one of us, either through the school office on:  02380252655, or via email to: adminoffice@chandlersford-inf.hants.sch.uk to request a phonecall.
