Below you will find a range of resources that will help and support you with phonics work. The phonics scheme that we use across the school is SUPERSONIC PHONIC FRIENDS which is a fully systematic synthetic phonic approach which has been  approved by the Department of Education. This scheme ensures children develop a passion for reading and the confidence to independently apply each skill when reading and writing. They will be highly motivated to ‘read with speed’ and ‘write with all their might!’At the end of Year 1 your child will take part in phonics screening check. This is not a formal test, but a way for teachers to ensure that children are making sufficient progress with their phonics skills to read words and that they are on track to become fluent readers who can enjoy reading for pleasure and for learning.
